Seva Foods was established in August 2017 by Michelle May. With a passion for creating delicious snacks and treats that taste as good as they feel, Michelle developed the first product prototypes at her home in Encinitas, California. All of our products are still made locally in small batches using only the highest quality, 100% organic ingredients.
Seva Foods is redefining snack foods to address an increasingly discerning and conscientious market. We were founded with the intention of promoting love and compassion through nutrition and the belief that food can be a potent form of activism. By crafting products made only with plant based ingredients, we hope to improve the world for all animals.
Space Ice Kream is the world’s first non-dairy, freeze dried ice cream. These nutrient-dense, bite-sized nuggets are cashew-coconut based and are available in two flavors – Strawberry and Vanilla. Space Ice Kream has the satisfying, rich flavor of traditional ice cream, but with the convenience of a snack and was inspired by the nostalgic treat originally created for the Apollo space missions in the 1960s, but free of processed sugar, added oils and artificial flavors or colors and is shelf stable for up to 35 years.
Coconut Jerky is a plant-based meat snack with a tender, yet meaty texture that appeals to vegans and meat-eaters alike. We make both flavors, Savory and Chipotle Lime, from hand-cut strips of the highest-quality, organic young coconut meat, and then marinate and gently dehydrated it. Coconut Jerky provides 4-6 grams of protein per bag and an abundance of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants at only 90 calories per serving. We are currently the only US manufacturer of organic coconut jerky.
All of our products are 100% Organic, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan and contain no added sugar or oil. We don’t use artificial flavors or preservatives and both Space Ice Kream and Coconut Jerky are shelf stable for several years.

Michelle May, President + Founder
With a lifelong love for food, Michelle is passionate about helping improve the lives of individuals and the health of the planet through the way we eat. She is a graduate of culinary and nutrition programs at Matthew Kenney Culinary and is also certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through Cornell University. Having worked for over a decade in tech, as a web developer and graphic designer, Michelle transitioned to the wellness industry in 2015. Prior to founding Seva Foods in 2017, she was a recipe developer and provided community cooking classes, nutrition workshops and private chef services. In addition to being a nutrition geek and plant based chef, Michelle is also a longtime yogi, animal rights activist, dog mom, Vegan Ladyboss organizer and and founder of Benjii’s Canine Cuisine.
